The original 12" alum PowerBook lacked an L3 cache resulting in rather
lackluster performance for some applications. In everyday use (word
processing, browsing, email) I found it to be peppier than my iBook but its
lack of speed became apparent when using Photoshop and iMovie. At work we
found it to be a solid computer just not as fast as one might have expected.
