Microsoft sold its very small amount (in the overall picture) of apple stock some time ago.
MS no longer wants to make software for the mac that is better than the software it makes for windows.
They eliminated the INDEPENDENT Mac Software Development unit.
The *freedom* of this unit is the reason that the mac software got to be so good.
(The unit still exists, but it is no longer INDEPENDENT.)
With the freedom gone the next versions of MS office Mac will be less good than the MS versions.
Almost always, MS has made the windows version better than the Mac version. We experienced a short term change in that policy, which is now over.
The point is though, it isn't in Microsoft's best interest to make the Mac look bad because they own a good chunk of the company!
