Keep in mind that the establishment of the separate software unit devoted
exclusively to the mac was most likely done to keep apple alive.
The total elimination of Apple would have put MS at greater risk in its antitrust (illegal) activities.
After the heat was off in the antitrust case,
MS markedly weakened the Mac Software Division.
That division is no longer independent. This lack of independence is Very Important.
Look for less good Mac software from MS in the next few years.
I believe that MS does intentionally make its software better on windows than on mac. Thus, MS creates the impression [to poorly informed folks] that windows is a better os than mac os.
This is absolutely not true. Have you ever used Microsoft Office for Mac and then used the windows version? The Mac version has more features than the PC version. It's amazing. --Kyle @ Work
