I have mostly seagate drives and I've never had one fail. I've got a few western digitals and they've held up. The hitachi in my iBook has 2 years on it and looks good. 2 samsung 500GB SATA's in my main tower have 3 years of hard service on them. I haven't ever had a maxtor last more than a year or so.
