If you used a half inch square of dymo tape than the weight of the Braille on each side of the dice would be the same as you are only deforming the same amount of material.
However in your two digit example 01 would look like 16
up-side-down.
You would need to add a line of dots to indicate the base or a number sign before the first digit.

And, if you really wanted to label a two digit die, such as a d20, you
could put on both digits, which you pretty much have to do anyway, so
1 becomes 01, 10 is 10.

The most dots in that system is seven, on a 07. The least is 11, with
two. If you just distributed the weight of the dots, you could ensure
an even more random roll, though the difference of five braille dots
is relatively negligible.
