Here's a short list of things that I consider important to become a member
of any ASF PMC:

1) Keep doing what you're doing -- contributing to this project. At the
moment this just means participating on the general@ list, which
is exactly what you're doing. I guess along with this is showing a
willingness to work with others, which you have also shown. :)

2) Show that you understand and are willing to upload the core
Apache values (this isn't directed at you, this is for the
   members of general@):
   - Meritocracy
     - Not only must PMC members be aware of the power of merit, they
must actively seek out contributors and give them that right,
via nominations to either committership, PMC, or ASF membership.
   - Voting rules (the veto rules I explained earlier)
   - Voting expectations
     - if you vote in favor of something (+1), you are expected to aid
       in that proposal.
     - if you vote against something (-1), you are expected to come up
       with an alternative proposal.
(the purpose of these loose rules is to keep progress moving forward
rather than allow a minority to prevent forward progress)
   - Understanding of the ASF structure, charters, etc...

I'm sure there are more, but this is the closest I've ever come to
actually writing this stuff down. If you or anyone has other opinions
on this topic, I'd love to hear it. :)
