Hi all,

I've successfully installed the latest Windows nut of Gregorio on a Win 8.1
box and, other than having to run the Gregorio Windows set up batch twice
to properly configure TexLive with Gregorio and Greg-book, Gregorio seems
to be behaving normally within TexLive. I considered taking the route that
would let me use the latest SVN but the Cygwin directions were sufficiently
unclear and I was in too great a hurry that I went the Windows install
route. I have an XP box that I will be converting to a Linux box and will
then be able to do a "proper" Gregorio install. :)

Back to the issue at hand. Following the directions closely, I installed
the latest version of TexLive (2013) for Windows, rebooted, downloaded and
installed Gregorio (twice) and nearly everything is fine. I can generate
GABC scores and run the processes that results in a .PDF output of the
transcribed score. My issue, and it seems to have to do with TexLive more
than Gregorio, is this: I cannot SaveAs the PDF output to some other
folder; the folder that I created under Gregorio (C:\Program Files
(x86)\Gregorio\Scores is NOT VISIBLE to the operating system (at least not
to Explore or even the formerly DOS command shell cmd -- ie, I can get to
the \Gregorio directory, but not /Scores). Within in TexLive, trying the
File, Open route and attempting a copy & paste process to copy the .PDF
that I can clearly see and paste it to another recognizable folder -- a
process that works everywhere else in Windows -- results in the error
message, "Could not find this item. This is no longer located in C:\Program
Files (x86)\gregorio\Scores. Verify the item's location and try again."

I am using the TexWorks editor, Version 0.4.5 r.1280 (official).

Is it me or is it something with TL 2013? It seems rather not worth the
effort if all I can do is print out PDF scores and not incorporate them
into other documents using, say, Word, Publisher or InDesign.

And, briefly, on another note, attempting to render the beginning of the
Gloria for the celebrant, I can't seem to turn off the big initial first
character. I have remarked-out what would seem to be the obvious in the
main-luatex doc so that the only things compiled between \begin and \end
are \redlines and \includescore. Is it a \usepackage that is being loaded
or not loaded? The only change that I made in that area was "letterpaper"
for \geometry.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Fr. Mike
