Hi, I would urge you to upgrade from windows xp as soon as possible. Windows 10 is not expected tell April some time. There for I would not wait tell windows 10. I would also not go to windows 7 either. This is an old operating system as well. Not only that but there are a number of things that you cannot already do with windows 7. With this being said I would go to windows 8.1. then I would install the beta of window-eyes 9.0. then I would go to www.ninite.com <http://www.ninite.com> and get the programs you want from there. One of those program I would get is classic shell. This will allow you to have the classic start menu on your windows 8.1 computer. This way you can have a user interface that you are used to and take advantage of all the latest capabilities of windows 8.1.
