Wow - way to welcome someone to the linux world... If you did some reading you could answer his questions... as I will now.
1 - its in the correct directory. Always create a user and put the files in their home dir, as you said you did. "Everything is installed in a directory in the home folder of an account i made for it" 2 - ./hlds_run +sv_lan 0 -game <whatevermod> -autoupdate +ip x.x.x.x (the full command line options can be found at any good cstrike site usually. 3 - just some rate tweaking usually depending upon your connection. I would start here - http://server.counter-strike.net/server.php?cmd=howto&show=linux as this will help you out with all the questions you asked. Oh yeah - welcome to the hlds_linux mailing list. :) -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Behalf Of Steven Hartland Sent: Sunday, May 01, 2005 10:28 AM To: hlds_linux@list.valvesoftware.com Subject: Re: [hlds_linux] New to linux servers, need help Your neglecting to tell us what "it" is :P RTFM seems to spring to mind for at least one of the questions without knowing the answer to the above. Steve / K ----- Original Message ----- From: "Ben H." <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Im new to the whole linux server world and have set up a box running Fedora 3 and have SELinux enabled. I believe i have installed it correctly. Everything is installed in a directory in the home folder of an account i made for it. I am now stuck with a few questions. 1) should it be where it is or in someother directory? 2) What command line do I run to start it properly? and 3) Is there anything extra i have to do to ensure this runs properly? ================================================ This e.mail is private and confidential between Multiplay (UK) Ltd. and the person or entity to whom it is addressed.
