where does it say that?  on page 2 of the document I see:

z/OS V1.12 is planned to run on these IBM System z® servers:
|   • z10 EC
|   • z10 BC
|   • z9 EC
|   • z9 BC
|   • z990*
|   • z890*
|   • z900*
|   • z800*
|   * These products are withdrawn from marketing.

looks like it will still run on z800, z900, z890, and z990 processors in
addition to the z9 and z10 ...
