We did the same analysis and moved onto the IBM products with little 
issues.

We did not move Strobe though.  IBM's Application Performance Analyzer did 
not meet our needs, either operationally or financially at the time. 

However, you can point Strobe to the same compiler output files that Fault 
Analyser and Debug Tool use, allowing Strobe to work.

I'd also be interested in any comments, as we're looking to do exactly

We're also considering replacing: -

Abend/AID & Abend/AID CICS with Fault analyser
Xpediter TSO & Xpediter CICS with Debug tool
Strobe & iStrobe with Application performance analyser

Any other comments or experiences with these conversions also welcome!

I can't speak for STROBE/iSTROBE, but changing out the other two will
save you a LOT of $$$$$.

When we made the switch, IBM sent in a team of "educators" to help our
staff make the transition. All went very well and smoothly.
