Surprisingly difficult or predictably IBM?

IBM didn't consider; made at best a half-hearted and didn't adequately test.

Even the combination:
    BINARY
    RDW
doesn't resunt in a round trip with integrity for a simple RECFM=VB data set.

And the envelope should contain a representation of the attributes so they would
be restored automatically on the return trip.

Does AMATERSE do this? Does ADRDSSU? If so, one of those should be made
an option supported by FTP.
