So leave the data in "mainframe encoded" mode perpetually and rely on the
abilities of Microfocus COBOL to process it?

I'll stray off-charter and draw a parallel with events today in Washington D.C.
A group driven by ideology is working under pressure of a deadline to reach a
goal with no practical plan to get there.
