Those with good memories may remember that a while ago Shimon Lebowitz posted here improvements for Tim Greer's CP1STLVL package (the tool that allows second level users to issue CP commands to the host CP). As my customer is upgrading to 5.2, I incorporated these changes in Tim's V5.2 version of CP1STLVL.
As Tim lacks time to update his pacakge, he proposed I create a new one: it became CPHOST http://www.vm.ibm.com/download/packages/descript.cgi?CPHOST Two main changes can attract you 1. The response of the first level CP can be placed in a buffer at the second-level. That is, you can grab the response using PIPE, EXECIO or Rexx's DIAG(8) function. 2. The return code of the first level CP becomes the returncode of the second-level command. Three special returncodes -in the 30000 range- are from CPHOST itself.
