Indeed you can, but as Rob says, all other LPARs must be protected from the volume. The preferred way is to alter the I/O configuration to allow access to those volumes only from the the Linux LPAR and the VM LPAR. The VM LPAR must be configured as I have previously described to ensure that the guest volser does not interfere with proper VM operation. Alan Altmark z/VM Development IBM Endicott
