Alan,
In my current job, I search for information a lot. My first choice for
searching and reading is always the BookManager bookshelves I have
downloaded to my workstation with Softcopy Librarian. I use the downloaded
PDF format when I want to print something from the manuals.

On-line, I still prefer the BookManager format for speed. PDF books always
take longer to download if I don't already have it on my own machine. The
Information Centers are okay for searching, but often give too many
unrelated hits on term. I prefer searching within a Bookshelf. At least I
can set up limits for searching the Information Centers to keep the results
more focused. I was never a real fan of the LibraryCenters. They seemed
to make Firefox slow way down.

Could I cope without BookManager? Probably, but I feel that it would slow
me down to do without it. I also like the consistency of being able to read
books with BookManager Read on the host z/VM or z/OS system if I need to do
that.

Lookat uses the BookManager format for messages. I would hate to lose
Lookat function on either TSO or the web.
