i dont really care that horses do this or not. 99% of all redneckers field trial horses ground tie like the rock of gibraltor and would not even dream of moving even a hair while being mounted. but most are trained to do it by imo a cruel method, left free in a roundpen with a harsh bit and dragging reins. So they learn when the reins hit the ground, don't move, or you're tongue may be cut off. There's nothing more mannerly in the world than most redneck tennessee walking horses, I mean they practically stretch out and crawl on their bellies for you to mount, literally parking out front and back til they often have spine damage over the years from this. any horse can be taught to stand for mounting, to park for mounting, to lay DOWN for mounting. And to ground tie. What i care about is how they were taught. and i thought that was what we were talking about really... at the core essence of it... janice -- even good horses have bad days sometimes.
