ah, even bigger than my big boy, then :) dunno then, maybe he associates the mounting block with the first stable i kept him at, where people mounted from the block always but did not pay so much attention to immediately finding a balanced position across his back before putting their leg over? he doesn't like a rider hanging off one side with more weight on one stirrup in general. he may be more used to people who mount from the ground using their forearm across the saddle to distribute weight during mounting, and think better of that method for that reason. tastes vary, i guess, even among horses :) --vicka
