Hi gang, I am a mighty confused PC user. I've been looking at so many used mac's that I've gone and messed my mind up so badly I'm not sure what I need anymore.
here is the deal. First of all, I'm on a tight, tight budget. but I have a 10 year old daughter who has some developmental delays that needs a computer. She wants to: surf the net via our wireless network (I have a linksys card that went in a previous pc - will this work at all in a mac? and if so, which models?) to play games such as barbie.com, disney.com etc use a notepad or word type program to type documents use educational games such as jump start, etc... I have a good working PC monitor, keyboard and mouse, also a mac keyboard and infared mouse from the dead Bondi. The aformentioned linksys card, a CD-RW/DVD, and some misc 128 mg pc100 and pc133 chips. Will any of these things work with a mac machine, and if so, what am I looking for? For that matter, what is the least expensive machine I can get used that that will do all these things until I can afford to get her a better machine? or a new machine? I appreciate all your knowledge and expertise. ----- Trish -- The iMac List is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
