I personally use an Airport Extreme Base station at home, which works well, and I get excellent reception all around. Worked well when the PC laptop recognized it's wireless card too. Never really had to move anything to get better reception.

odd, why not get a wireless network? I've had an easier time on the
wireless networks I've set up than wired ones, they were over all
cheaper to set up, and easier as well. Plus the not having to run
wires and cables all over the place sure does help alot, even if it
is a desktop computer.

A very good question Brian.

The seller told me he had a wireless network in his premises and the laptops sometimes had to be moved round to get in range. This is more difficult with desktops. Maybe his wireless equipment wasn't as good as it could be.
