Open that folder periodically and trash everything in it. Appleworks definitely works better. I don't know what they can't fix that bug. Appleworks grinds to an absolute crawl if that folder gets too much stuff in it.


Thanks to all who mentioned this. I went to Users>Documents...Recent Items and found 413 items. Deleted them. I do expect better results. This obviously will have to be a frequent exercise...
