Do you mean you want to disable SMTP Auth Vrfy? As I understand it from
http://support.ipswitch.com/kb/IM-20000117-DM01.htm, if you disable SMTP
Auth Reporting, users won't be able to use SMTP Auth... here's what that KB
article says:
"Disable SMTP "AUTH" reporting" will not allow a user to use SMTP AUTH logon
anyway since this option controls the server stating that it supports the
ability. While it is true the server still will accept the AUTH logon (and
be logged on), no client that we are aware of will actually attempt to do so
since the server doesn't say it supports it.
Also from that article is this tidbit: "Note, SMTP Authentication does not
work for a shared-IP-address Virtual Host that uses an external user
database." Ipswitch, has this been fixed since the 8/16/00 revision date on
that article? If not, will it?
