As stated, outgoing messages must be achieved for legal reasons as well,
which isn't feasible on a handheld wireless device.

Jumping in here at the last minute, and hope to not stir up any fires.

Imail is intended to be a solid e-mail server. It can handle 5 users to
hundreds of thousands of users. It is not intended as a be all to all full
feature bells and whistles packed customizable for each client mail server.

Imail has its place. So does Exchange. So do the other mail servers. I
think. ;-)

In this situation, if you need more integration or customization or
specialization, you might need to think about Exchange.

The feature you are looking for is not needed nor required by most people
and especially in today's technology of web and e-mail enabled phones. Maybe
the users that need this type of feature should have an e-mail enabled
phone, and forward a copy of each message to that phone e-mail address.
Those systems are designed to truncate and reduce the size of incoming
messages.

Just my .02. :-)>
