In every case of this, it has been a user who re-entered their username and
password - INCORRECTLY. If the could send before AUTH, all they should have
to do is check the box and let it use the default settings for retrieving
messages. It works without a problem.

We have more than 10,000 accounts who are required to auth. They are using
Outlook Express, Outlook 2000, Outlook 2002, Netscape, Opera and variety of
other applications, including Macintosh applications.

All they have to do is check the box that states: "My server requires
authentication" and LEAVE the box that states: "Use same settings as
incoming mail server."

Subject: [IMail Forum] Another AUTH Outlook question please

Hey gang, another quick question regarding Outlook + Auth.

User has Outlook 2002, and she has her setting under server options set to
"My server requires Auth" but for whatever reason, it will NOT Auth her on
the system. Out mail logs here don't show "Failed Auth" or anything, just
lines as if she never had that setting in there, so naturally, since we are
no "No Mail Relay", she can't send outside our network.

Anyone heard of errors with Auth in Outlook 2002? I'm currently checking
MS's newsgroups for Outlook, but can't get the stuuuupid search function to
work. So meanwhile, I'll post the question here, in hopes someone can clue
me in.

Thanks!

Paul
