Has anyone used SmarterMail ? It does not use a database so does that mean it is using the registry? How solid is it? I am seeing reviews and reports on how solid MailEnable, and a couple others are, how about any reviews from actual users on SmarterMail ?

I'm quite sure they did expect this kind of response from the active list users. We tend to solve our own problems without using their support and don't pull any punches when telling others that it's weak to begin with. I don't think the IM nor the AntiVirus sold very well on their own so they had to bundle it to force a sale. Good luck with that.
I think this will be a fabulous example of one company growing too big for its clients while smaller more innovative companies sweep their clients. Imail did it a few years ago to Post.Office.
The SmarterMail webmail is worth the cost of the Enterprise license alone.

Like I said, IPSwitch better start doing some damage control.
I think the fact that they have not after 250+ negative posts and virtually no positive posts speaks for itself.
If they weren't expecting this, they would have done damage control already -- Roger Greene (president of Ipswitch; [EMAIL PROTECTED]), William Pollack (COO, [EMAIL PROTECTED]), Patrick Loring (Business Development Manager, [EMAIL PROTECTED]), Jill Jones (Messaging Product Manager, [EMAIL PROTECTED]), and/or John Junod (co-owner with Roger Greene) have had plenty of time to post something. But all except Jill have been silent, and Jill's posts are not for damage control.
So I think it is safe to say that Ipswitch made the decision to do this, knowing that they would abandon 90% of their customers, and are sticking by that decision.
