This thread is growing out of control, so can I please make a suggestion.

Everybody stop, calm down, and let's all enjoy the weekend. Logical arguments are fine, but the messages now are getting into name-calling and accusations. There's no call for that here. We're too nascent a community to already start fragmenting over something that isn't even *technology*. We're arguing about a name here. Keep that in mind.

So the main point of contention is about the use of the name "OpenSolaris". We can argue all we want about what Sun wants, and about what the community wants. (And if you've read my replies, you know how I feel already - I won't reiterate it here).

Why don't we just make it a poll? We've got the whizzy polling infrastructure.... instead of bickering back and forth like schoolkids, let's put it up to a vote.

cheers,
steve
