I hear you, but I still don't like it.

You should go and listen in on

http://lists.wikimedia.org/mailman/listinfo/foundation-l,

go and listen in on the mailing list of the wikimedia foundation. They've
hashed out a ton of legal stuff in this public forum, and the community is
much better off for it.

Trademark issues, are a pain, indeed. However, things between small
contributors (individuals or small companies) and non-profit organizations,
have a much different set of rules and behaviors than big companies. Sun is
the OpenSolaris trademark holder, because Sun was the promoter of the
OpenSolaris community, actually, there was no community at all before this.

There are dozens of bad people out there, expecting big companies to make
any mistake to sue them, and getting lots of money. If Sun doesn't take care
about it, Sun will loose money, and if Sun looses money because of trying to
be more "opensourcey" then, it will stop of being opensourcey, do you want
that?

Sara is trying to make this issue as friendly as possible for the community,
so please, stop trolling at her, troll at laws and troll at stupid sues
cases that win. But please don't bit the hand that is feeding you.

And if you still think that Sun is not caring about community, then, what
are you doing on an OpenSolaris community discussion list?
