I know a lot of people don't know Sara, or have a basic distrust of marketing,
but *trust* me, she knows her stuff and very much in tune with the needs of the
community. It's going to be a difficult conversation, but she's absolutely
right, that initial contact needs to be done internally.
Agree 100%. There's no other way, actually. You know it's interesting,
for as much as Sun has to learn from the open source community, I can
easily point to issues like this (and others) as an example of how Sun
can teach the open source community a great deal about the challenges of
doing open source from within a multi-national corporation. It goes both
ways. The open source community really needs to open up more and be more
flexible. One of the greatest lessons I've learned on this project is
that the open source community doesn't know it all.
