They've hashed out a ton of legal stuff in this public forum, and the community is much better off for it.
Wikipedia is not a public company with shareholders at last check which means there is a completely different set of rules surrounding what discussions can be public. Not only that, Sun's company bylaws may prevent certain discussions from being public.
