NREMT Announces Plan to Incorporate Revised AHA Guidelines on NREMT Exams
The National Registry of EMTs has announced plans to incorporate the 2005 American Heart Association Guidelines for CPR and Emergency Cardiovascular Care into all its examinations by January 1, 2007. Exams offered in the interim will be constructed so that candidates will not be penalized for being trained in either the 2000 or the 2005 AHA Guidelines for CPR and Emergency Cardiovascular Care. | |

High Percentage of Contamination Found in "Cleaned" Trauma Equipment
A recent study emphasizes the need for all EMS providers to reassess their decontamination practices. Equipment from the emergency departments of six hospitals and three regional ambulance services in the UK was tested for blood contamination.
