There is no way that aid funds will continue as before. I can assure you all
of that. The anger towards Indonesia and their guilt in the killings is
flowing across the world. I know for a fact that past aid funds are going to
be investigated for bribes, other illegal payments, etc. You may not know
but a bribe over $100 can land an Australian 10 years in jail.
I can also assure you of another thing: The US monitors all communications
in Indonesia. Australia has monitored all communications traffic going in
and out, and throughout East Timor. It will not be difficult in finding the
guilty ones to put up on trial for "crimes against humanity".
Some of you are kidding yourselves in you think that this will all be
forgotten soon. It will be remembered in 50 years time. I warned you about
this a week ago that your grandchildren will carry the shame.
To say that the media was bias is part of the denial many Indonesians have
about the situation. I understand this. But what was the bias? 15,000 really
killed and not 25,000?? Why are we paying word games?
The world will now look more closely on Indonesia's performance in Aceh,
Ambon, Irian, and all the other provinces.
I think that the guilty people who caused this terrible crime must pay for
their actions.
But don't kid yourselves, the relationship between Australia and Indonesia
will be strained.
Sad regards
Michael Suss
