>>A great scene, in which Claire is telling Keith about Gabe; actually, what
he
says is "because she loves him" in answer to her brother's question about
why
she hangs out with this loser.<<<

oops, thanks fred...you are right about that scene (it came out backwards
when i wrote it), keith just melted my heart & i think you are right about
the child...& what a great dad keith would be...you could see it in david's
eyes, that he really had fallen in love again ...my heart is breaking for
gabe who keeps making his life worse but who is lots of kids who make bad
choices under the influence...i hope they find a way to resolve this one in
a life-affirming way (such as he didn't hit the person in the car & he goes
to rehab instead of jail)

>>(By the way, dig the juxtaposition with the film "Badlands.")<<

hmmm...didn't see that film...

>>>I guess this must sound like some kind of soap opera to someone who's
never
seen the show, but anyone who has seen it knows that it's a soap opera like
no other. I love this show.<<<

yes, it does probably seems like a soap opera to anyone who hasn't seen
it...it is so brilliantly written & acted that the characters have become so
real...there was a show that aired on tv quite a few years ago called My So
Called Life, that I thought was excellent but it didn't last long...Six Feet
Under reminds me a bit of that one...expecially the claire & gabe
characters. (& (& don't you love watching Ruth, their mom, going through her
self discovery...lol..) last week was the best episode yet, imo, (maybe i
should join a six feet under chat group...lol...)

did you know the series was created by the guy who wrote the screenplay for
American Beauty?
