Removing my kickerrc and allowing kde build a new one hasn't fixed my problem. 
I don't have the problem with a new user though, so I guess the problem is in 
one of the other files (at least on my system).
I also have a problem with kmail - I have an IMAP account that never seems to 
finish downloading the headers since the upgrade to 3.5 and kmail becomes 
very un-responsive as a result. I don't want to blow away my kmail config 
though - too many filter rules and so on. 
This is one area KDE does seem to have trouble with - upgrading to new a point 
release often means blowing away your config and starting again.
