As I mentioned earlier, all was well with a new user. Just like Ian here says. I then went and did the backup of my config, but the problem still remained attached to this user I'm logged in as. So, I went back to fussing about with that new user I created. I turned on every darn effect KDE has in play, including all the shadowing and transparency stuff. Couldn't force a failure with this new user... until... I turned on the pager transparancy. Can't get there from Control Center (to the best of my knowledge anyway). You right click on the pager, then under "Pager Options" you can set it. I went back to my regular user, turned off that pager transparancy setting. Can't seem to replicate a glitch with kicker since then. This probably needs more testing. Does this appear to be a solution for anyone else?
