In addition to HP, I've just finished Primo Levi's Survival in
Auschwitz, plus A. J. Stirland's Raising the Dead: The skeleton crew
of King Henry VIII's great ship, the Mary Rose. This is a somewhat
popularized book of forensic anthropology (in my next life, maybe
I'll be an archaeologist...) on the sailors and marines whose remains
were found in the hull when the ship was raised (when I'm not
building wooden ship models)....
Also have enjoyed Orson Scott Card's series beginning with Ender's
Game (read aloud with late-teen son), and Katherine Kurtz's Deryni
books, and the ones by Mercedes Lackey.
