1/ PPPoA Bering supports it since it is part of the 2.4.18 linux kernel. The module is here: http://leaf.sourceforge.net/devel/jnilo/bering/latest/modules/net/atm/ 2/ pppd The standard pppd provided with Bering should work 3/ Modem You will be better of if you choose a modem which supports both pppoe and pppoa. I think this is the case of the Alcatel USB speedtouch modem.
