Well, sort of. Your mail prompted me to look into the "Alternate Configuration" feature of Windows XP, which I suspect is what you mean. It ain't quite what it seems, in that the primary configuration must use DHCP, or you get no Alternate, and the Alternate Configuration cannot use DHCP, but must use either: - an "automatic private address" in the 169.254.0.0 network, or - manual settings. In other words, this isn't designed to help you move the laptop between two DHCP-enabled networks.
