address in WinXP and using DHCP on workl and home connections.
I have DHCP working on both networks. Here is the output of ipconfig/all on

The DNS is routing to work while at home and using the work DNS servers. I
released and renewed the ip before taking this ip dump. The Ip address,
Subnet Mask, Default Gateway, DHCP Server are correct for my home lan.
Here is my home XP pc on my lan ONLY:

Any help is most welcome on how to get the work DNS from populating while at
home, so I can use the laptop on the internet.
Thanks

Well, sort of. Your mail prompted me to look into the "Alternate
Configuration" feature of Windows XP, which I suspect is what you mean.
It ain't quite what it seems, in that the primary configuration must use
DHCP, or you get no Alternate, and the Alternate Configuration cannot
use DHCP, but must use either:
- an "automatic private address" in the 169.254.0.0 network, or
- manual settings.
In other words, this isn't designed to help you move the laptop between
two DHCP-enabled networks. That said, you should be able to provide
manual settings for your "Alternate Configuration" that will be
compatible with your home network.
