There are more than two points though:- "1. That we might not necessarily have to sell our top players due to wages. 2. That Healy didn't defer his wages." I would add Bates' attempt to endear Wise to us by saying he offered to take a wage drop. Re points 1. & 2. speculation (again) but after the end of the season even if we had stayed up Healy was off, her certainly wasnt going to take a wage cut when he could get a transfer to a PL club and who would blame him. the 3rd point:- "As for Wise dropping or offering to drop his wages, again that is certainly something uncommon in football. I think you'll be able to count the number of players on 0 hands who do that when relegated (and under contract)." Why are you so enthusiastic to take this and anything else Bates' says at face value? I think the creditors meeting on Friday shows this is a man who cannot be trusted as far as you could throw him? Whatever was said it does not appear he has taken a wage cut has he? Lucky him eh? This may be hypocritical but I actually was pleased to hear about his skullduggery to secure us because it showed he is perhaps a better business man than footballing man. Finally, I have to say that I can't get my head beyond Wise being interviewed before the FA Cup Final laughing and joking with not a care in the world. For me it was the first time I had bothered watching a game on telly because I was so p*ssed off at the plight of my club. Am I the only one who think that neither Bates or Wise give a flying f&ck about Leeds United?
