Sorry, but Billy was an awful judge of a player. He inherited a promising young
side from Eddie, but got rid of most of them for peanuts. Irwin, Sellars and
Scales were all given away for less than £100,000, as was Linighan (who wasn't
that good but who was later sold from Norwich to Arsenal for £1 Million).

And who did he buy for similar amounts of money? The likes of Harle, who was
one of the worst players I've ever seen in a Leeds shirt. All the 'Worst ever
Leeds XIs' I've seen posted on various forums have had more than their fair
share of Bremner signings.

"Wee billy was not a good manager".

Bit harsh Tim. Billy was expected to manage Leeds on a shoe-string and with
some young kids and a number of journey men. He was minutes away from getting
us promoted through the play-offs and reach the FA Cup Final in the same season.

Wilko only came because the Board promised to back him and who is to argue that
Billy would not have got us promoted if he had been given the same resources.

Soz for being pedantic but I can't let anything negative go if its about the
Wee Man.
