Poppy Day / Rememberance Day isnt about celebrating war - nothing makes war
"ok", and Yes war isnt worth even one life - having seen and been with
friends who have been killed I can vouch personally for that
Rememberance Day is about REMEMBERING (hence the name) the fellows who had
to fight these stupid wars and cos life sucks, died whilst doing so
I would rather have hoopla and commercialism on Poppy Day rather than forget
about what happened. Wouldnt you? Or is it all likely to offend our
sensibilities these days?
Over here BTW, the money / commercialism from Poppy Day goes to Legacy and
the RSL (Returned Servicemans leagues) who look after the widows and
children from these wars AND the lads who didnt get to die, and just got
fecked up for the rest of their lives, doing what they thought was the right
thing to do. Thats black humour btw. Its either that or vent and get banned
from the list!!
And dont for one second even try to string a line that celebrating Poppy Day
"makes it easier to continue to happen". That is just beyond bollox
And finally, even tho a number of folk have pointed out the possible "lack
of tact" in your posts on this subject, you continue the drivel. Why? (thats
rhetorical - I couldnt care less now - just shut up on this topic PLEASE

reading today that Harry Patch (last of the British WWI veterans to die)
disliked all the hoopla around Rememberance Day...he described it as "just
show business".
he also said of WWI "Too many died. War isn’t worth one life,” and that
war was the “calculated and condoned slaughter of human beings".
That is another reason why I am against the whole poppy
thing................war is an abomination which should never happen, and
such sacharine "remembrance" makes it all OK, and thereby makes it easier
to continue to happen.
A C#nt.
