I am one of the beta testers for the new version of Clooz that is about to be
released. This program has many improvements that make
it a true asset to the genealogist. There also has been a great deal of work,
discussion and change in the program based on the
initial design, results from the beta testers and the integration with Legacy.

if you are looking for an over view, the best way will be to download the
program (don't download the version that is posted as it
will expire on April 30th), and then take the program for a test drive for the
evaluation period. I would suggest that anyone that
wants to evaluation the program start with the way you want the program to work
for you - either integrated with Legacy or as a
standalone with a gedcom import. Once you have decided how you want to use the
program, keep your electronic files, and work with
the program, you will have a program that is a true enhancement to your
research.

If you have never used Clooz (the older version 1) program, you would benefit
from reading the manual that is available as it
provides an understanding of associations of documents, the methods and
recording that is done. Otherwise, if you have not decided
how you want to keep your records, structure either your electronic or hardcopy
file - you will be just walking through the haunted
forest and will most likely have to start over. I am speaking from experience
in that I got the version 1 program years ago, did not
really get a solid way of working with my files, and found that I was using
three different methods and practices, as well as wound
up with creating multiple files to work with in trying to get organized with
the massive piles of records, documents, and files.

If there are any questions, comments, or thoughts pertaining to this post,
contact me directly as I feel that this is not the forum
to make these on the Legacy site. Also, as the program is released, you can
join the Clooz list on Yahoo and get help from long
time users of the version 1 and soon to be version 2.

Subject: [LegacyUG] Legacy and Clooz version 2

If there are any Clooz beta testers onlist, how well does Clooz version 2.0
interact with Legacy 6.0? An overview would be appreciated.
