Interesting. I would add the second marriage as a completely separate
event - thus creating two distinct families with identical husband and
wife, but differing MRIN.
The first marriage must have ended in divorce for them to get married
again - as opposed to a re-affirmation of vows etc -- so the Divorce is
an Event and officially ends that union.
It is a bit messy - but so must have their lives been !! I know that
other programs may not like it when a file transfer is done, but my
objective is to make my data correct from my point of view, and I think
the "two marriage setup" gives a truer picture than the alternative.
It is different to my brother who was Officially Married overseas, and
then married to the same woman, about 2 months later, in Australia,
under Australian Law. This second marriage is entered under a created
Event - Second Marriage. I also have a created Event - Second Funeral -
a funeral service was held in one town - the body put on a train and
taken 200 miles away where another funeral service was held later the
same day!!
Cheers
