I've had a Dataman S4 (http://www.dataman.com) for a while now, and I've been very happy with it. It has a serial interface that you can access with tip (ascii commands). I've used it for a number of years under both Linux and FreeBSD. They're not cheap, though, US$795. -- Stephen M.
