Yep, but what I want is the system sounds when I
iconize a window, move a window, and so on.

The sound modules are loaded when I boot the system.
In the /etc/conf.modules I have the lines:
alias sound es1371
alias char-major-14 es1371
options es1371 joystick=0x200
In these days I have changed to Enlightenment. I
like it the best. But I have now the same problem.
I click on the desktop to take a menu and then I
choose Enlightenment / Settings / Audio settings,
and I obtain a window:
Audio Settings
--------------------------
[ ] Enable sounds
--------------------------
[ OK ] [ Apply ] [ Close ]
I check "Enable sounds" and press [ OK ]. Then I
get an error window:
Error initialising sound
----------------------------------------------
Audio was enabled for Enlightenment but
there was an error communicating with the
audio server (Esound). Audio will now be
disabled.

Yes, I have Esound installed:
$ rpm -q esound
esound-0.2.8-14
I use SuSE Linux 6.2. Please help. Thank you in
advance.
