As far as I know, the buttons at the menus are
.kdelnk files. You can edit them with a text editor
like vim, emacs, the text editor of KDE, etc.
Probably these .kdelnk files are pointing to a
executable that doesn't exist or that is not there.
Do you use SuSE, like me? I think I had this
problem when I installed KDE packages that are not
from http://www.suse.de/en . There is a KDE service at
this site. It is in the download area of the site.
Try better these packages.
