This is what the help says: At this point you should turn on the verbose debugging setting for usb-storage in the kernel configuration and post the dmesg output. You should also cc: your message to the current maintainer of the shuttle_usbat driver (Daniel Drake, listed at the start of the source code file drivers/usb/storage/shuttle_usbat.c). He's the person who knows most about how the driver works.
