I must respond to your idea that Australia's decency in East Timor caused
this attack. I am not in your part of the world, but, I suspect those
Austrialians just happened to be a convenient Western target for Muslim
terrorists. Muslim terrorists are not too fussy about whom they kill.
They will kill Muslims, too, if said Muslims are the wrong type. Does a
week go by without some such outrage? The killings in Bali were simply
a more "successful" attack than usual.

To expand slightly on this, there is no country which has substantial
numbers of Muslims which doesn't experience murderous attacks by Muslim
terrorists on non-Muslims, often with the tacit approval of the local
government, despite its secular credentials. Such terrorists have to
live among the Muslim population, and there can be no doubt that many
non-terrorists Muslim are aware of their activities, but don't report it.
Sorta like the Klu Klux Klan in the American South in the 1920's or the
IRA today. An article in the WJS this week talked about how the murders of
Westerners in Kuwait and Saudi Arabia by Muslim terrorists are covered up
and blamed on other Westerners, so each murder has at least two Western
victims, the guy who is dead and the guy who is punished for his murder
by the authorities.

So, the message is clear to Westerners: Keep out of Muslim territory.
