"every motor vehicle, other than a motorcycle, must be operated with the headlights on whenever weather conditions prevent a driver from clearly discerning a person or other motor vehicle on the highway from a distance of 1,000 feet, or when driving in conditions that require windshield wipers to be in continuous use." In other words - "Windshield Wipers On = Headlights On".... most of the time. , VT

I swear when I was learning to drive back in 1934, I was told that you should turn your headlights on whenever you have your windshield wipers going. It must be because if it's raining, it's probably also a bit dark, and it's harder to see other motorists without sunlight and when your windshield is being pelted with water... Could it be though that you'll get ticketed for CLEANING your windshield without headlights on? Can the CHiPs ticket you for that even if it's not raining? If that happens to me I'm calling Johnnie Cochran and taking it to the Supreme Court. C.
