Ahh,

But from the point of view of health care professionals, the American tax payer and State Funding programs to hospitals, it is a serious problem when people come into the emergency room after splattering their brains on the pavement and have no insurance. Then who foots the bill. The American tax payer is who. So who in turn does that effect...you and I right? Hospitals can not refuse anyone service, so to try and cut costs more than to save lives, they initiated the helmet law. Same with the seat belt law. Should you wear them...probably. Is it your business if you do or not...used to be. Now if you don't it is the polices business to ticket you, just like the headlights. I was a bit dramatic with the whole intrusion of liberty, but the fact remains it is one step closer to communism, do what they say(again dramatic.)

That's ok, soon enough they will determine that humans are not as efficient at driving as they require, people are still getting hit coming out of blind intersections even with the lights, and they still fall asleep at the wheel, so now the cars will take us where we need to go, computer operated.
Some will like this other will not...ok I'm done;)

yup i agree too.... the headlight thing is for your safety & the safety of others... i don't think the helmet/motorcycle law is necessary, though... if you want to splatter your brains out on the pavement, then that's your choice!

I disagree. I see it as a matter of safety. You have to use headlights at night (when you can't see everything clearly) for the same reason you have to use them when the weather causes you to not be able to see clearly. If you have a tool you can use to help you be a safer driver, by all means use it. If not for your own sake... for mine. I really don't feel like getting sideswiped as I come out of a blind driveway becuase I didn't see any headlights comin. To me, it's just a matter of common sense and im actually quite suprised it hasnt become a law until now.

But like you all are saying, Its just another way for the state and goverment to make more money$$$. ~Charlie~
